Vodafone Idea share price: Vodafone Idea denies knowledge of reported AGR dues waiver 

The shares of Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) were trading at ₹9.52 down by ₹0.42 or 4.23 per cent on the NSE today at 11.55 am.

Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) clarified on January 20 that it has not received any communication from the government regarding a potential waiver of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) dues worth over ₹1 lakh crore. The telecom operator issued this statement to stock exchanges following significant movement in its share price on the same day.

The clarification came in response to a media report published on January 18, which suggested that the government was considering a substantial relief package for telecom companies by waiving AGR dues.

The AGR dues have been a significant financial burden for Indian telecom operators since the Supreme Court’s ruling in 2019, which broadened the definition of AGR to include non-telecom revenues.
