Top gainers & losers intraday: Auto & IT stocks lead, cables & wires plunge
Shares of Titan, Eicher Motors, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto and Hero Motocorp traded among top gainers of Nifty 50 constituents.
Bajaj Finance, UltraTech, IndusInd, L&T and Apollo Hospitals slipped to trade among major laggards.
IT, auto and oil & gas stocks led the gainers, while the broader indices continued to surge. Sensex soared 605.27 pts or 0.80% to 76,054.32 as at 12.50 pm, and Nifty 50 gained 195.60 pts or 0.85 per cent to 23,103.20. IT index regained momentum on Thursday as the Federal Reserve maintained its rate-cut forecast for the year, aligning with market expectations.
Top gainers & losers
At the time of writing, Titan shares led the gainers with 3.55 per cent increase to ₹3,185.45 on the NSE.
Eicher Motors followed with a gain of 3.04 per cent to ₹5,255.75.
Bharti Airtel share rose 2.96 per cent to ₹1,685.6.
Auto majors Bajaj Auto gained 2.69 per cent to ₹7,929.8 and Hero Motocorp rose 2.60 per cent to ₹3,629.
On the flip side, Bajaj Finance witnessed a fall of 1.02 per cent to ₹8,642.9.
UltraTech Cement followed with 0.70 per cent decline to ₹10,857.25.
IndusInd shares slipped 0.64 per cent to ₹688.25.
L&T and Apollo Hospitals slipped 0.29 per cent and 0.20 per cent, respectively.
Of all the 2,812 stocks that were traded on the National Stock Exchange, 1,873 of them advanced and 875 declined.
Shares of IndiGo, JSW Holdings and Avanti Feeds were among the 33 stocks that hit a 52-week high today. Meanwhile, cables and wires stock plunged on Thursday’s early trade on Adani Group’s foray into the segment. KEI felt the maximum pressure, hitting a 52-week low.
Major laggards among the Sensex pack, include Polycab, Havells and Finolex Cables along with KEI Industries.
On the other hand, KEC International, KFin Tech and Shipping Corporation of India scaled to trade nearly 9 per cent higher.
