NSE/BSE Top Gainers & Losers Today 27 May 2025: IndusInd Bank, UltraTech Cement, ITC in focus
Benchmark indices ended sharply lower on Tuesday, May 27, snapping a two-day winning streak as investors booked profits across sectors, amid weak global cues and valuation concerns. Volatility dominated the session, with the Nifty 50 swinging nearly 350 points before closing firmly in the red.
The Nifty 50 shed 174.95 points or 0.70 per cent to settle at 24,826.20, while the BSE Sensex fell 624.82 points or 0.76 per cent to end at 81,551.63. The intraday session saw the Nifty drop to a low of 24,704 after opening slightly lower at 24,956.65.
Top Gainers
IndusInd Bank led the gainers’ list, climbing 2.60 per cent to ₹821.05.
Sun Pharma rose 0.47 per cent to ₹1,683.70, followed by Nestlé India, up 0.36 per cent to ₹2,462.20.
Adani Ports gained 0.34 per cent to ₹1,404.45, while Asian Paints inched up 0.06 per cent to ₹2,328.85.
Top Losers
UltraTech Cement was the top laggard, falling 2.29 per cent to ₹11,421.05.
ITC declined 2.01 per cent to ₹433.90, while Tata Motors dropped 1.73 per cent to ₹716.45.
Axis Bank slipped 1.59 per cent to ₹1,195.90, and NTPC lost 1.40 per cent to close at ₹338.60.
“The domestic market witnessed volatility and snapped a two-day rally, as investors opted for profit-booking, driven by valuation concerns and weakness across Asian markets,” said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services. “The benchmark index once again failed to decisively breach the 25k resistance level, reflecting the absence of positive triggers.”
