NSE/BSE Top gainers, losers: Sensex sheds 1300 pts, Trent, IndusInd lead gainers, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finserv, HCL, Infosys down over 2%
Shares of Trent, IndusInd, ONGC, Jio Financial and Bajaj Auto traded among the top gainers of Nifty 50 components, while HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finserv, HCL Technologies, Infosys and Titan were major laggards.
Realty stocks witnessed the maximum selling pressure. The index slumped over 3 per cent. IT, consumer durables, healthcare and pharma continued to trade in the red due to heightened uncertainty about Trump’s reciprocal tariffs. The broader indices tanked.
Sensex plummeted 1,216.63 points or 1.57 per cent to 76,198.29 at 12.29 pm after hitting the day’s low of 76,081.80, and Nifty 50 fell 305.25 points or 1.3 per cent to 23,214.10. The volatility index rose 8.49 per cent to 13.80.
Nifty midcap 100 slipped 0.69 per cent to 51,315.45 at 12.36 pm, while Nifty smallcap 100 dipped 0.66 per cent to 15,989.60.
Major losers of Nifty midcap 100 include Voltas (-6.15%), Oberoi Realty (-4.61%), Persistent Systems (-4.56%), Policy Bazaar (-4.08%) and Godrej Properties (-3.70%).
Of the 2,803 stocks traded on the National Stock Exchange, 1,833 advanced and 903 declined.

Shares of Trent led the gainers of Nifty 50 with a 4.86 per cent increase to ₹5,584. The company recently announced that it has crossed an operating portfolio of over 1000 large-box fashion stores.
IndusInd Bank followed with a 4.79 per cent gain to ₹681.
ONGC shares rose 1.41 per cent to ₹249.85 and the recently added Nifty 50 constituent Jio Financial gained 1.59 per cent to ₹231.12.
Bajaj Auto shares were up 1.05 per cent to ₹7,961.30.
On the flip side, HDFC Bank shares fell 3.04 per cent to ₹1,772.70 and Bajaj Finserv followed with 2.51 per cent decline to ₹1,957.
IT stocks – HCL Tech dropped 2.63 per cent to ₹1,550.65 and Infosys depreciated 2.52 per cent to ₹1,531. Titan Company stock declined 2.39 per cent to ₹2,990.25.
On the BSE, shares of UCO Bank, Ipca Laboratories, Voltas, Suven Pharma and JB Chemicals topped the list of losers, falling 6-9 per cent.
Meanwhile, Godfrey Phillips, Senco Gold and Vodafone Idea were among the 208 stocks that hit upper circuit.
