IRCON International secures ₹1,096 cr EPC contract in Meghalaya, shares jump 6%

IRCON International Limited announced yesterday that it has been awarded a major Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract worth ₹1,096.17 crore for the construction of a new Secretariat Complex in Shillong, Meghalaya.
The project, awarded by the Directorate of Urban Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, will be executed through a joint venture with Badri Rai and Company (BRC), where IRCON holds a 26 per cent stake valued at approximately ₹285 crore. BRC holds the majority 74 per cent stake in the partnership.
According to the company announcement on March 17, 2025, the scope of work includes construction of the New Secretariat Complex and related campus infrastructure in New Shillong City. The project has an execution timeline of 36 months.
This domestic contract adds to IRCON’s robust order book and strengthens its position in the infrastructure development sector in northeastern India. The company confirmed that the contract does not fall under related party transactions and that no promoter or group companies have any interest in the awarding entity.
IRCON International Limited, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, specialises in transportation infrastructure projects including railways, highways, and building works.
