Healthcare index falls 0.14%; Poly Medicare leads the losers dipping 3.53%
The Healthcare index on the BSE declined marginally by 0.14 per cent to 44,479.95 at 2.35pm.
Several prominent pharmaceutical companies like Poly Medicure Ltd, Unichem Laboratories Ltd, and Wockhardt Ltd were among the top losers, shedding 3.53 per cent, 2.86 per cent, and 2.79 per cent of their value, respectively. Other notable decliners included Supriya Life Science Ltd, Innova Captab Ltd, Piramal Pharma Ltd, and Marksans Pharma Ltd.
While the overall sector was subdued, a few stocks bucked the trend. Sasta Sundar Ventures Ltd, Suven, Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services Ltd, Star and Strides Pharma Science Ltd emerged as the top gainers, surging by 6.77 per cent, 6.04 per cent, and 4.99 per cent, respectively. Other notable gainers included Biocon, Indoco Remedies Ltd and Indraprastha Medical Corporation Ltd.
As of 2.35pm, on the BSE, 4,065 stocks were trading, with 2,415 advancing, 1,503 declining, and 125 unchanged.
