Gulshan Polyols’ Assam plant to get ₹50-crore PLI incentive from state government – CNBC TV18



Gulshan Polyols Limited (GPL) has announced that its 250 KLPD bio-ethanol manufacturing plant, based in Goalpara, Assam, has been awarded a production-linked incentive (PLI) of ₹2 per litre by the Assam government. The incentive will be provided for an initial period of three years.

The company, which already benefits from the Assam Ethanol Production Promotion Policy, 2021, is set to receive an additional estimated ₹50 crore over the three years. These incentives are expected to drive operational efficiency and production growth, boosting the company’s performance.

The ₹200-crore plant has been developed to support the production of bio-ethanol. Additionally, it aims to create over 200 permanent jobs in the region, aligning with the state’s objectives of fostering industrial growth and sustainable energy initiatives.

The shares of Gulshan Polyols ended 1.6% lower on Wednesday, December 18. The stock has fallen 14% in six months, and nearly 17% in 2024 so far.
