Greenply Industries shuts down MDF plant in Gujarat following machinery breakdown – CNBC TV18



Plywood maker Greenply Industries Ltd on Thursday (December 12) announced a temporary shutdown of manufacturing operations at the medium-density fiberboard (MDF) plant of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Greenply Speciality Panels Private Ltd.

“This is to inform that the manufacturing operations at the MDF plant of the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary i.e. M/s. Greenply Speciality Panels Pvt. Ltd., situated at Village Sherpura, Dist. Vadodara, Gujarat is closed w.e.f. December 11, 2024, due to breakdown of machinery,” Greenply Industries said in a regulatory filing.

The plant, located in Sherpura village, Vadodara district, Gujarat, ceased operations on December 11, 2024, due to a machinery breakdown.

The company has assured stakeholders that the issue is not major and that necessary measures are underway to resolve it. Production at the facility is expected to resume within the next few days. “Necessary steps are being taken to resolve the issue which seems to be not a major issue, and the facility is likely to resume production in the next few days,” it added.

Shares of Greenply Industries Ltd ended at ₹352.80, up by ₹11.50, or 3.37% on the BSE.
