Bajaj Auto clarifies misconceptions on Freedom and Pulsar sales

The shares of Bajaj Auto Limited were trading at ₹9,113.50 up by ₹221.55 or 2.49 per cent on the NSE today at 11.18 am.

Bajaj Auto Limited has issued an official clarification to stock exchanges regarding recent brokerage reports about its two-wheeler sales volumes and pricing strategies, addressing rumors about its Freedom and Pulsar model lines.

The company refuted claims of 80,000 Freedom 125 dispatches, stating that as of November 30, 2024, it had actually billed 67,000 units to dealers, with 40,000 units retailed and 33,000 registered on the Vahan portal.

The Freedom portfolio comprises three variants: a top-end model accounting for 72 per cent of retails at ₹1,10,000, an entry-level base variant priced at ₹90,000, and a mid-tier variant priced at ₹95,000.

Regarding the Pulsar range, Bajaj Auto explained that its dozen-plus models have experienced selective price adjustments in recent months. These pricing modifications are part of a standard market competitiveness strategy, with the company emphasizing that the net financial impact of these changes is minimal for the current quarter.
