The automaker said the extent of price increase will vary depending on the model and variant. “Inflation and higher commodity prices have necessitated this price increase. This move will help mitigate a part of the input cost impact,” the company said.

On Thursday, December 12, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors too said it will increase the prices across its trucks and buses portfolio by up to 2% from January 1, 2025. Tata Motors also said the price hike is to offset the rise in input costs.

On another note, Ashok Leyland on Thursday, December 12, said it won an order worth ₹345.58 crore from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation to supply 1,475 BSVI diesel passenger bus chassis. Ashok Leyland secured the order through a standard tendering process and is required to deliver the chassis between December 2024 and May 2025.

The company also announced the voluntary liquidation of its step-down subsidiary LLC Ashok Leyland Russia.

Ashok Leyland shares were trading 1.07% lower at 227.55 apiece at 10.15 am on Friday, December 13. The stock has gained 22.38% this year, so far.
