Top gainers & losers today 17th july: Sensex down 160 pts, Tech Mahindra down 3%, Jio Financials, Axis bank, Wipro to announce results today

Domestic market traded with marginal losses amid ongoing earnings season and the wariness over US Fed leadership and rising Treasury yields. Investors continue to adopt cautious tone.
Sensex declined by 148.00 pts or 0.18 per cent to 82,486.48 as at 12.55 pm after a steady start at 82,753.53, and Nifty 50 slipped 33.10 pts or 0.13 per cent to 25,178.95.
Smallcap index dipped 0.03 per cent at the time of writing, and the midcap index dropped 0.14 per cent. The volatility index was at 11.19, a slip by 0.44 per cent.
On the sectoral front, the indices were under pressure, weighed down by sharp declines in key sectors such as IT and financials. Meanwhile, realty index soared 1 per cent. Pharma, consumer durables, FMCGs and metal indexes traded with marginal gains.
Top gainers & losers today
Among the Sensex pack, Tata Consumer, Hindalco and Trent rose over 1 per cent, Tata Motors, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and Tata Steel inched up to lead the gainers.
On the flip side, Tech Mahindra declined over 2 per cent, experiencing significant sell-off following Q1 results. All other IT stocks also traded in the negative range, including LTIMindtree, Persistent Systems and Mphasis, falling 1-2 per cent.
IndusInd Bank, SBI Life, Infosys and L&T also traded in the negative territory.
Meanwhile, Prestige, Brigade, Sobha, Godrej Properties led the gainers of Nifty realty index.
A total of 2,833 stocks were traded on the National Stock Exchange in the mid-trading session, of which 1,445 advanced and 1,300 declined.
Stocks that hit 52-week high & 52-week low
Force Motors, Jubilant Agri, HDFC AMC, Lumax, NAM-India and Nazara were among the 65 stocks that hit a 52-week high, while 17 shares including Pashupati Cotspin hit a 52-week low.
Electrotherm (India) and Nibe faetured among 73 stocks that traded at their upper circuit. 28 stocks were in the lower circuit.
In addition, shares of Angel One, ITC Hotels and LTTS were also in focus following Q1 show. Today, Jio Financials, Axis bank, Wipro, HDFC AMC and more companies to announce results. Catch live action
Midcap and smallcap movers
Shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings zoomed 7 per cent among the midcap index. UPL, Prestige, Kalyan Jewellers and Godrej Properties also rose 2-4 per cent.
Meanwhile, MFSL, Bharat Dyanmics, Waaree Energies, Union Bank and BSE declined 2-3 per cent.
In the smallcap segment, Nuvama, Welspun Corp, MGL, Brigade and Shyam Metalics soared 2-3 per cent, while Newgen, Swan Energy, Aadhar Housing Finance, KPIL and Poonawalla depreciated 1-4 per cent.
On the BSE, Thermax rallied 10 per cent, Alok Industries, Thomas Cook, Sona BLW and Goldiam increased by 6-7 per cent. JP Power fell 3 per cent.
