LTTS launches AI-powered railway track inspection solution
L&T Technology Services Limited (LTTS) announced today the launch of TrackEi, an AI-powered railway track inspection solution designed to enhance safety for rail networks worldwide. The system utilizes the NVIDIA Jetson™ platform for edge AI and robotics to deliver real-time defect detection and support predictive maintenance.
The shares of L&T Technology Services Limited (LTTS) were trading at ₹4,639.50, up by ₹30.10 or 0.65 per cent on the NSE at 2.15 pm.
TrackEi™ automates high-speed inspections at over 60 miles per hour, using high-resolution cameras and laser profiling to identify issues such as broken rails, cracks, track misalignments, and structural defects. The solution processes image data on the fly and performs complex machine vision tasks even in variable lighting and weather conditions.
According to Alind Saxena, Executive Director & President – Mobility & Tech at LTTS, the system allows rail operators to “detect defects with unparalleled accuracy while optimizing maintenance schedules and reducing downtime.”
The solution is currently undergoing testing and evaluation at MxV Rail in Pueblo, Colorado, after initial trials with Class-I Railroad customers. LTTS will showcase TrackEi at the NVIDIA GTC 2025 AI Conference.
This development follows LTTS winning the Etihad Rail Innovation Award for its “Innovative Way to Detect Visible Rail Defects in Real-Time” and builds on the company’s ongoing collaboration with NVIDIA, which recently included the unveiling of an AI Experience Zone at LTTS.
