Agro Tech Foods, which owns brands such as ACT II popcorn and Sundrop, on Thursday announced completion of its deal to acquire Del Monte Foods from Bharti Enterprises through a share-swap deal. The company did not disclose the deal value. Agro Tech Foods Ltd’s (ATFL) acquisition of Del Monte Foods Pvt Ltd (DMFPL) solidifies its position in India’s food and FMCG sector, the company said in a statement.

ITC on Thursday announced to acquire ‘Prasuma’ and ‘Meatigo’ brands expanding its presence in frozen, chilled and ready-to-cook foods. ITC has signed definitive agreements for the acquisition of Prasuma1, a leading player in the frozen, chilled and ready-to-cook foods space in India. It operates through ‘Prasuma’, ‘Meatigo by Prasuma’ and ‘Prasuma Momo Kitchen’ brands. It will acquire a 100 per cent stake in Prasuma over three years, said a joint statement.

Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) has partnered with Asian Paints to deploy a network of integrated line haul transportation solutions for the paint maker for short distances to improve supply chain efficiency and availability. The collaboration will enable Asian Paints to leverage their scale of operations and further extend this capability in line haul logistics by integrating the company’s new pro-trucking solutions, which is a dedicated, premium and fuel-efficient fleet tailored for extensive pan-India line haul movements for multi-site customer operations, Mahindra Logistics said. 

Malaysia’s IHH Healthcare Berhad on Thursday said its Singaporean arm Northern TK Venture Pte Ltd has increased the claim for damage from Japan’s Daiichi Sankyo to up to JPY 199.8 billion (around Rs 10,930 crore) at their ongoing litigation in Tokyo for obstructing completion of open offer in Fortis Healthcare Ltd and its step-down subsidiary, Fortis Malar Hospitals Ltd. Northern TK Venture is currently engaged in a lawsuit in the Tokyo District Court against Daiichi Sankyo Company Ltd pursuing claims, including a claim for damage related to obstruction of NTK’s completion of a tender offer for shares in India’s Fortis Healthcare Ltd (FHL) and its step-down subsidiary, Fortis Malar Hospitals Ltd (FMHL).

NTPC Green Energy has informed the exchanges that it has formed a joint venture AP NGEL Harit Amrit, along with New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh. The JVaims to develop renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, hybrid, and pumped hydro projects (up to 25 GW), green hydrogen (0.5 MMTPA), and related green derivatives.

The board of Aurobindo Pharma has approved a plan to acquire 80 per cent of Tergene Biotech Ltd, a subsidiary, making it a direct subsidiary of the company.

Meson Valves India secured its maiden order from the US worth Rs 31.61 crore ($3.60 million) for critical valves in industries such as oil & gas, chemical/petrochemical, and power. The duration of the comprehensive supply contract order is for three years.

The Ministry of Defence has inked contracts with Economic Explosive Limited (EEL), wholly owned subsidiary of Solar Industries India Limited, for the procurement of Area Denial Munition (ADM) Type-1 (DPICM) and High Explosive Pre Fragmented (HEPF) Mk-1 (Enhanced) rockets respectively for PINAKA Multiple Launcher Rocket System (MLRS), the biggest contract in the history of Solar Group.

HG Infra-DEC Infrastructure consortium has emerged as the L-1 bidder by Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) to develop the New Delhi railway station. The EPC bid has come at a cost of Rs 2,195.68 crore, which is lower than the estimated project cost of Rs 2,469 crore by RLDA. HG Infra has 49% stake and DEC Infrastructure has 51 per cent share.

Sobha has informed the exchanges that the company has received an order from the Central GST department, including Rs 32.5 crore in tax and Rs 33.05 crore in penalties. Sobha said it will an appeal against the order with appropriate agency.

Petronet LNG ha signed a 15-year Sale & Purchase Agreement with Deepak Phenolics for 250 KTA of propylene and 11 KTA of hydrogen from its Dahej petrochemical complex.

BSE has reported its net profit doubling to Rs 220 crore for three months ended December 2024. It posted a net profit of Rs 108.2 crore in the same quarter preceding fiscal, BSE said in a statement. The exchange recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue of Rs 835.4 crore in the October-December quarter of the current financial year (FY25), a 94 per cent jump from Rs 431.4 crore in the same period preceding fiscal.

Zomato has changed its name to Eternal, with the company’s board approving it on Thursday. The change is subject to the approval of shareholders of the company, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and other applicable statutory authorities, as required, according to a regulatory filing. However, the brand name of the company’s food delivery business Zomato will remain the same, along with the app.

Tata Power on Thursday said it has restored the operations of unit 5 at its Trombay Thermal Power Station in Mumbai, which was affected due to a fire incident in September last year. The unit was affected by fire in the cable vault on September 23, 2024, Tata Power said in an exchange filing.

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories on Thursday said its subsidiary has inked a licence agreement with Shanghai Henlius Biotech, Inc to develop and commercialise an under-development cancer drug. Dr Reddy’s Laboratories SA has entered into a pact with the Chinese firm for HLX15, its investigational daratumumab biosimilar candidate to Darzalex and Darzalex Faspro. HLX15 is a recombinant anti-CD38 fully human monoclonal antibody injection, with intravenous as well as subcutaneous formulations.
