Wipro wins multi-million-dollar contract from Etihad Airways for technology modernization, cloud solutions, and AI integration
Wipro Limited has won a multi-million-dollar contract from Etihad Airways to spearhead the UAE national carrier’s technology modernization initiative, as announced today, January 30, 2025. The five-year agreement will see Wipro managing the airline’s legacy system migration and operational efficiency improvements across workplace, network, infrastructure, and service management.
Under the contract, Wipro FullStride Cloud will implement a customised cloud solution to provide Etihad with real-time resource utilisation insights and enhance operational flexibility. The technology services company will also integrate Generative AI modules throughout the IT framework, from data centre automation to end-user support.
Etihad Airways’ Chief Digital Officer Frank Meyer emphasised the partnership’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and cost optimisation. The airline will have access to Wipro’s Innovation Lab in the UAE to support their evolving technological needs.
Wipro, which has maintained a presence in the Middle East for over two decades, brings its aviation industry expertise and cloud transformation capabilities to the partnership. The deal was previously referenced without naming Etihad Airways in Wipro’s financial results announcement on January 17, 2025, for the quarter ended December 31, 2024.
The shares of Wipro Limited closed today at ₹309.50 down by ₹2.95 or 0.94 on the NSE today.
